With its compact design, the Shift EER- 051D may become the world’s first pocketable color eReader. To be able to bring color to the device, Paradigm Shift is taking a 5-inch LCD screen. There are downsides to an LCD display, however, such as glares and shorter battery life, but the Shift EER-051D manages to reduce glare effect by rolling out the device with TFT high-resolution technology. The EER-051D is also said to use fewer resources than standard eReader screens. If you are looking for a color eReader with a good battery life, the Paradigm Shift EER-051D is your ticket.

Based on company’s photo demonstration, the EER-0515D has a well though-out button placement and control layout. There are control buttons on both side of the display, making the device suitable for one-handed use by either right- or left-hand readers. The Power, Search, Back, and Forward buttons are also found on the face of the device. A 4-directional pad is found below the screen.

Like the Cool-er, the Paradigm Shift EER-051D will ship in a variety of colors, including white, pink, blue, black/silver, and green.  

The device can display a wide range of ebook formats on the market, including ANSI, DOC, PDF, HTML, Unicode, FB2, and ePub. 2GB flash storage will let you to bring hundreds of books for the weight of one. You can even add 8GB more worth of files.
