B&N just announced another firmware update to their Nook 3G and Nook Wi-Fi. Version 1.4 includes a couple of pretty important fixes — including the much-need “go to page” feature, an extra large font size, and support for AT&T WiFi. That’s right, the next time you wander into an AT&T hotspot you’ll be Nooking for free. The Nook firmware version 1.4 update is available now. Click here to get it
Still need a better directory structure for logical storage of books. But in all, a worthy update. I also figured out the reasong for the short battery life. Just like the old days of phones with the little add in cards, if you put a micro SD card in your reader you will greatly reduce the battery life, ragardless of whether ot not you are reading books off the card. It seems that Nook burns some power trying to keep the cards content fresh in its brain. My power consumption is much better without the card. I went from 3 days battery life to almost the advertised 10 days before I had to recharge the nook this last time.
