Engadget recieved a shot of target’s inventory handheld showing a listing for a $259 ereader called the Kindle. Sounds familiar? Yes, that’s the Amazon Kindle and our guess is Amazon are trying to get more exposure for it’s device, particulary in brick and mortar stores, like the B&N nook and the Apple iPad which is available in selected Best Buy stores.
There might be another reason as well. Amazon are planning to release a Kindle 3, probably this year, so some extra exposure to the Kindle brand can never hurt.

Who has the best books? I don’t want the nook but I like B&N books, who would supply them best-Kindle or Sony. If you know please get back to me ASAP as I want to buy immed.
