After announcing an April 2010 expected launch date, Plastic Logic have again delayed the official release of their much anticipated Que Reader. The message from Plastic Logic says that they to
“further fine-tune features and enhance the overall product experience.”
Altough a delay of few months doesn;t seem like that a big of a deal, we have to remember that technology changes fast. Very fast. It’s enough if we mention the expected release of the new Apple iPad on April 3 in the US to show how a revolution happens faster then we think. If Plastic Logic further delay the launch of the Que, they might find out that there are no buyers left, as everyone got the iPad!. After all, both devices target the same users. There’s no doubt the iPad will turn the world of ereaders upside down, just like the iPhone did for the other cellphones. If companies like Plastic Logic, Hearst Publishing (Skiff Reader) and Spring Design (Alex Reader) don’t wake up fast, they might find out the train had already left the station, leaving them behind.
