The Best Way to Find Free Kindle Books.

By Best-eReaders, February 15, 2010

Purchasing a Kindle or other eReader will require some income, but once you have the eReader device you can begin your electronic reading in moments.  It is easy to find a number of electronic books online.  Several stores have popped up online to sell eBooks; however, you might find that it is a little tougher to get the books for free.  We have a list and review of places to find free Kindle books, so that you may enjoy a little reading.

1. Freekindlebooks.org is one of the top places you will want to look for free books.  This site offers you MOBI and PRC formats for Kindle eReaders.  They offer only classic eBooks.  Titles will include Jane Austin novels, Louisa May Alcott, Aristotle, and such things as Beowulf.  Many of these classics are required for literature classes in college and high school making Freekindlebooks.org a great place to go.  The site is a little difficult to navigate at first because it is mostly text, but if you scroll to the bottom of the homepage you will see a list of categories.

2. Kindle.sinshoppe.com is a little easier to use as it comes up with a database search and links right on the homepage.  You can enter a classic title to begin your free download.  Like the first site mentioned Kindle.sinshoppe.com offers all the top classics in a fairly moderate selection.
3. Online-bargain-shop.com has over 300,000 ebooks to search through.  They also have free Kindle books for you to download.  The site has all of the classics such as Sherlock Holmes, Treasure Island, Gulliver’s Travels, and more.  They have easy links to select in order to find the listing of books. They even list a number of samples they have in their categories.
4. The best place to find free electronic books is going to beAmazon.com if you are looking for more mainstream style authors.  There are obscure authors on the site as well, but they are more modern than your classics.  For example Jack Kilborn, Jeri Smith-Ready, and James Clemens are a few of the free books right now.  These names will not be on the bestseller lists, but you can find an author that is yet undiscovered.  Amazon.com will change out the free listings offered on the site.  This means you need to download the books you are interested in to guarantee you have them for a later date.

These are four of the sites available online for free Kindle books.  While there are other sites listed you will find they tend to point you back to Amazon.com or the other three sites listed above.  You may also try a search based on the genre of free books you wish to download.
