eSlick Cons
Users will be happy to know that the eSlick lacks the flash issues at page turns of the Sony Reader. However, the device displays only 4 shades of gray – Sony has 8 and Kindle has 16 – and so sacrifices image details. The D-pad found on the lower right of the device which is used to turn pages are not exactly user-friendly, making the fingers sore and stiff after prolonged use.
While the Foxit eSlick Reader is more affordable than most leading ebook reading devices, but gadget lovers looking for a device with more advanced features may find the eSlick quite lacking. Without wireless connectivity, users do not have the convenience of downloading and accessing reading materials online. The eSlick comes with directional buttons that make navigation of menu easy, but without keyboard whether physical or on-screen means one can't bookmark pages, annotate texts, write notes, or search through text.
