Sony’s first introduction to the eReader device was way back in 2003, but they didn’t turn the page on this technology until they released the Sony PRS-505 in 2007. With the sleek, contemporary designs Sony is known for, this gadget is one of the most portable of the electronic readers, about the size of a paperback novel, and the slimmest, at less than one-third of an inch.

The Sony PRS-505 set the standard in eReaders with a huge leap in graphics, a high-resolution, high-contrast, electronic paper display that delivers a realistic print look rivaling traditional paper and using minimal battery power- a technology known as e-ink.
